Abstract

In this paper, we propose a framework for modelling and control of cyber-physical systems. This framework is derived from complexity science, where complex systems have a large number of components with significant interaction. Moreover, the interaction can be multi-scale, both temporal and spatial. Using recent advances from complexity science, new research vistas are designed for cyber-physical systems. Examples include: nudging control, hierarchical abstractions and spatio-temporal modelling.
