Abstract
From the beginning of the uprising against the Napoleonic forces in 1808, hand-in-hand with notable figures such as Flórez Estrada, or anonymous, as the members of the defensive corps of the Alarma, in Asturias came out new modern concepts about what it meant being Spanish and citizen, and that before the Constitution of 1812. Such concepts will be tinged and, even, come to coexist different and contrary meanings in this regard up to present.
