Abstract

In this paper, we establish some necessary and sufficient conditions for the symmetrizability of second-order differential operators over infinite dimensional state spaces including locally convex spaces and separable metrizable Banach manifolds. In particular, we provide an abstract and simple criterion which can be applied to verify many important known examples.
