Abstract

An alpha-galactosidase capable of alpha-galactosyl transfer on to a 4-position of sugar accepters was isolated from Aspergillus niger and purified to homogeneity. The enzyme was characterised with respect to its pH and temperature optima and stability, molecular mass and pi. Inhibition by compounds relevant to a potential application of the enzyme for oligosaccharide synthesis was investigated. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
