UNSPECIFIED (1999) The structure of [GaBr3(Me-3[9]aneN(3))]: The first example of a six co-ordinate gallium(III) bromide complex. MAIN GROUP METAL CHEMISTRY, 22 (8). pp. 515-518. ISSN 0334-7575

Abstract

Reaction of equimolar quantities of gallium(lll) bromide and 1,4,7-trimethyl-1,4,7-triazacyclononane (Me-3[9]aneN(3)) in acetonitrile gives the neutral adduct [GaBr3(Me-3[9]aneN(3))]. A crystal structure determination (X-ray diffraction) confirms a half-sandwich topology in which the six cc-ordinate metal centre adopts the expected fac-octahedral geometry, following eta(3) N-donor co-ordination of the azamacrocycle.
