Fast optimization of mechanical designs using computer aided design computer aided engineering emulation: a case study
UNSPECIFIED (1999) Fast optimization of mechanical designs using computer aided design computer aided engineering emulation: a case study. PROCEEDINGS OF THE INSTITUTION OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS PART D-JOURNAL OF AUTOMOBILE ENGINEERING, 213 (D1). pp. 27-35. ISSN 0954-4070Full text not available from this repository.
The use of emulator methods in mechanical engineering design is more limited than in electrical and electronic engineering. The concept is to replace a computer aided engineering simulator with a fast statistical emulator built using a designed computer experiment, which can then be used to facilitate optimization and robust engineering design. This case study draws out lessons for application in mechanical design.
