Abstract
Challenging sections of the liberal mainstream who, horrified and disillusioned with the current levels of prominence and power of the far right, periodically express nostalgia for and a desire to return to the seemingly more tolerant era of centre-establishment politics, Reactionary Democracy by Aurelien Mondon and Aaron Winter effectively lays out the continuities and interdependencies between the liberal/conservative mainstream and the far right, particularly in their appeals to, expressions of, and institutionalisation of racism in its multiple forms. This review seeks to reflect on and think with some of the key themes of the book.
