Abstract
The objective of feminist analysis in relation to higher education is to explore the ways in which higher education is unfair for women and often to promote social change to remedy this unfairness. Feminist analysis asks questions about why inequalities of opportunities and outcomes and discriminatory conditions persist in higher education. The way this analysis is conducted, the evidence it uses, and its underlying assumptions vary widely. In this entry, the major types of feminist analysis are included as well as the challenges that feminist analysis faces in relation to higher education in the 21st century.
