Abstract

The cyclopalladation of mesogenic Schiffs bases and subsequent reaction with a beta-diketone yields novel metallomesogens. Ln particular, use of simple alkyl substituted diketones can have a very dramatic effect on both the melting and clearing point. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
