The authors present a half-bridge series-parallel load-resonant converter in which the resonant circuit has been designed so that the circuit can operate near to resonance over a wide frequency range. The output power of the circuit varies continuously over this frequency range, resulting in a load-resonant converter with zero current soft-switching over a range of output power. The prototype constructed shows a power variation of 2:1 over a frequency range of 30kHz.
