The structure of the title compound, [La(mu-Cl)(3)(C4H8O)(H2O)](n), is based on a bidimensional mesh-like polymer. The metal is eight-coordinate with distorted square antiprismatic geometry; each [LaCl3(thf)(H2O)] unit is linked to three others via pairs of chloride bridges.
