Abstract
The method of learner-created knowledge—where students engage with others in order to connect what they know with new knowledge to construct new meaning—ties into a broader support for learner autonomy in English language teaching (ELT) and learning (for a review, see Palfreyman and Benson 2019). According to advocates of learner-centered pedagogies in ELT, learner-created knowledge and learnercentered learning contribute to improved educational outcomes (Benson and Huang 2008; Schweisfurth 2013).
