Abstract
This article looks retrospectively over the methodological stages of a sequence of interrelated ethnographic studies, focusing on religion in the lives of young people, which were conducted, under the direction of Professor Robert Jackson, in what is now the Warwick Religions and Education Research Unit (WRERU) in the Institute of Education at the University of Warwick. The relationship between methodological issues and religious education is discussed briefly.
