Abstract
This is a discussion for the WICID Methods Lab and Diary Method Community (https://diarymethodcommunity.wordpress.com) held in July 2022 about 'Using Diary Method in International Development Research'. The discussion includes three empirical projects using diary method - on displacement of Syrian academics, an NGO in South Africa, and marginalised groups in higher education in India. The contributors discuss the design and choices of these studies and reflect on wider issues of using diary method in international development research. The discussion will be relevant for those considering using diary method for the first time as well as more experienced diary researchers wishing to think more deeply about their methodological practice.
