Abstract

Two models are used to compare a conventional wind pump with one consisting of a two bladed rotor driving a Mono pump through an electronically controlled clutch. The models suggest that if a standard wind pump could start at its lowest continuous running wind speed, its output could be almost doubled, for the same availability.
