An analytical method for computing minimum and maximum inductances in 1-phase and 2-phase switched reluctance motors is presented. Results obtained by implementing this method are in close agreement to finite element analysis (FEA) and experimental results from a prototype motor. The effect of end core flux on the values of minimum and maximum inductances is discussed.
