Two new furanditerpenes, vouacapane-6 alpha,7 beta,17 beta-triol (3) and vouacapane-6 alpha,7 beta,17 beta,19-tetraol (4), have been isolated from the seeds of Pterodon polygalaeflorus Benth. The selective effects of these two diterpenes and of 6 alpha,7 beta-dihydroxyvouacapan-17 beta-oic acid (1) and 6 alpha-hydroxyvouacapano-7 beta,17 beta-lactone (2) on the radicle growth of Sorghum bicolor and Cucumis sativus were evaluated.
