Abstract

The uranyl group in the title compound, [UO2(C6H4-NO2)(2)(H2O)(2)], with U-O 1.782 (4) Angstrom, is sixfold coordinated by two water molecules [U-O 2.431 (4) Angstrom] and two bidentate nicotinic acid anions (pyridine-3-carboxylato ions) [U-O 2.459 (4)-2.486 (4) Angstrom]. Individual molecules are linked into chains by hydrogen bonds between coordinated water molecules and pyridine N atoms.
