Abstract

Almost planar molecules of the title compound, C5H3NO5 are held together by hydrogen bonds of 2.604 (2) Angstrom operating between the carboxylate O atoms of adjacent molecules giving rise to centrosymmetric dimers. The interactions between the dimers are much weaker, as indicated by the distances between the nearest atoms of adjacent moieties amounting to ca 3 Angstrom.
