UNSPECIFIED (1994) A KINETIC DESCRIPTION OF ANOMALOUS PARTICLE-TRANSPORT BY TRAVELING WAVES. In: NATO Advanced Research Workshop and EGS Topical Workshop on Chaotic Advection, Tracer Dynamics and Turbulent Dispersion, MAY 24-28, 1993, GAVI, ITALY.

Abstract

A model kinetic equation is constructed that describes both qualitatively and quantitatively the main features of anomalous particle transport in fluid flow, by travelling waves. The equation is based on the travelling wave map model of Weiss (Phys. Fluids A 3 (1991) 1379) but results obtained here can be readily generalised to other models.
