Abstract

We use our <<first-principles>> theory for magnetic correlations in paramagnetic alloys to extract magnetic interactions in the Cu85Mn15 <<spin-glass>> alloy at 295 K. We associate a new combination of competing, electronic effects for these entities. Our results are in good agreement with appropriate neutron scattering data for this alloy above its <<spin-freezing. temperature. We suggest that the extracted magnetic interactions will be useful in improving models of the low-temperature magnetic properties of these spin-glasses.
