Abstract

Reaction of the complex [TiMgCl6.4EtOAc] with two moles of acid, RCO2H (R = C6H5, C6H5CHCH,p-(CH3)3CC6H4, (CH3)2CCH) leads to the heterobimetallic carboxylates [TiMgCl4(RCO2)2.2EtOAc] while with pivalic acid the derivative [TiMgCl4{(CH3)3CCO2}2.1.25EtOAc] is obtained. In corresponding reactions with phenol the complexes [TiMgCl5(OC6H5).1.25EtOAc] and [TiMg2Cl6(OC6H5)2.2EtOAc] have also been isolated.
