Abstract

Isothermal magnetization measurements have been carried out on a single crystal of Nd1.85Ce0.15CuO4-y at several temperatures below T(c) for field directions both parallel and perpendicular to the basal (ab) plane of the crystal. An upper limit on H(c1) for both these orientations has been obtained from these measurements. A very large anisotropy of approximately 40 is found between the two directions.
