Abstract

An action research initiative with a small group developing an organisational intranet surfaced issues of data ownership. Understanding the rather complex working relations between members and their particular purposes, as expressed in the workshop, became significant to the researcher to inform the action-research. A workshop video was transcribed and was used as data to inquire the organisational discourse (re-) emerging in the workshop. The paper considers text analysis in IS design, and questions the possibility of entrenched inequalities regressing beyond explicit discussion.
