Abstract

Population control is diabolical. It is wily, ahistorical and better to give than
to receive. It is also a very popular 20th-century idea, and over the past decade
or so has finally begun to receive the kind of sustained critical inquiry that it
merits. Population control, in other words, is a great topic for those of us who
wish to understand sinews of power as they cross the globe. [...]
