Abstract

Animal studies suggest a role for calcium-independent
phospholipase A2 (iPLA2b) in G-protein coupled receptor-mediated but
not ion channel-induced constriction in cerebral arteries and the abdominal
aorta. Purpose: We assessed whether iPLA2b may be implicated in
regulating tone in human vascular conduits, using S-bromoenolactone
(S-BEL), a stereo-selective suicide substrate inhibitor of iPLA2b, with its
stereo-isomer R-BEL as control.
