Abstract
This book develops a Gramscian account of contemporary governance. It critiques the fashionable view that there has been a shift from hierarchy to networks, arguing instead that the ideology of network governance is part of the neoliberal hegemonic project. However, there are major barriers to accomplishing this project. This book will be essential reading for academics and students, particularly in policy studies, political science, management, social policy and governance studies'.
