Abstract
Where are sounds and where do we experience them to be? In what follows, I argue that when we hear sounds, we hear them where we are. We do not hear them to be where we are, however, because we do not hear sounds to be anywhere. This conclusion follows from the account I give of what sounds are, and of the role of space in auditory perception.
