Abstract
This book focuses on a series of initiatives which aim to provide a better schooling for primary aged children. Most of the chapters are concerned with projects which have been undertaken collaboratively by educational psychologists and teachers, mainly at the level of the class, with some at school or local education authortity level. There is also discussion of broader issues to place such developments in context. This book explores the new collaborative relationship between schools and the psychological services in response to the Education Reform Act 1988, the Elton Report and the National Curriculum and it brings together examples of good practice for primary schools to adopt. It is written by experienced educational psychologists actively engaged in collaborative work with teachers.
