Abstract

New moment-based estimators for the average powers of the Rayleigh fading distributions in the source-to-relay and relay-to-destination links are derived for amplify-and-forward relaying. Both the case of known noise power and the case of unknown noise power are considered. Numerical results are presented to show the good performances of the derived new estimators.
