Abstract
The teaching of programming languages will often involve students being assessed by means of programming assignments. The administration of such assessments is a complex and demanding task which is compounded by increasing numbers of students. At Warwick we have, in response, developed software which will allow such assignments to be submitted on-line. This paper discusses our experiences with the software and its implications for large group teaching.
