Abstract
This paper presents the results of a comprehensive technology review of low-cost composite forming tooling. The study details the process and results of a down selection of the tooling technologies based on a number of selection criteria (cost, tolerance, lead-time, scalability and durability), demonstrating the sensitivity of the technologies to these criteria. The principal technologies down-selected with a primary focus on low-cost and high tolerance are presented, and their benefits and disadvantages are discussed.
