Eurocode 4: Part 1.1 was published as a 'draft for development' in 1992 and so its technical provisions relate to knowledge and practice of ten years ago. The paper treats developments since then, particularly in the field of composite steel-concrete construction for buildings. Forms of construction are described and key findings from research identified. The paper describes how such developments could be included in Eurocode 4, now being converted into a full European Standard.
