Abstract

This paper reviews the development of a new electromagnetic (EM) inspection system for assessingmicrostructure during controlled cooling on a hot strip mill. The EM inspection system exploits magnetic induction spectroscopy to determine a transformation index which can characterize the evolution of the microstructure during cooling.
