Abstract

Systems in various industry domains such as automotive and aerospace are becoming ever more complex involving the integration of new technologies, incorporating new materials, and many new advanced systems based on multiple disciplines such as mechanical, electrical and control, to name a few. Customer, legislative requirements as well as the competition in the market require companies to adopt better approaches to all stages of the system development lifecycle, i.e., Requirements Engineering and Management, Design, Development and Verification and Validation, so that such complex systems can be produced more efficiently, at lower costs with more reliability and so on. This invited presentation at Airbus, as part of the UKIERI visit, addresses how we can address these challenges with a Model Based Systems Engineering approach to complex systems development in the aerospace domain.
