Abstract

We report the results of magnetization measurements performed on single crystals of the pyrochlore compound Ho2Ti2O7. The low-temperature magnetization curves for the three principal directions of an applied magnetic field are found to be in nearly perfect agreement with the predictions for a nearest-neighbor spin-ice model, contrary to previous reports.
