Abstract
A large number of different types of software code analysis tools exist to evaluate software quality. They range from the simple to the complex. When real hardware becomes available, software probes can be inserted in the program that report back to the test tools. This 'test harness' instrumentation technique has limitations for embedded systems. This feature examines the potential of a new hardware assisted test harness technique to remove this problem.
