Abstract
The two main products from the reaction of a chiral Schiff-base proligand H2L with [Nb-IV(NEt2)(4)] are the amidoimido species [LNbV(NEt)(VEt2)] and the highly unusual [L'Nb-V(NEt2)(2)] in which a 1-ethylaminoethyl radical has undergone highly diastereoselective addition to one of the coordinated imine groups.
