Abstract
The case is presented for the universal adoption of the 'f' spelling of the element sulfur and of all other names containing the 'sulf-' root. This requires the overdue implementation of the IUPAC ruling that 'sulfur' is the only acceptable English spelling for this element, its compounds, and derivative words.
