Abstract
As more organizations are embarking on a distributed mode of software development, it is imperative to equip practitioners with a workable framework to manage component-based development in distributed environments, and to offer a theoretical construct to academics wishing to advance the study of global software development teams. This book summarizes over eight years of research into some of the most challenging globally distributed software development projects. This book outlines the key challenges faced by these projects and offers tools and methodologies to implement component-based development in global teams.
