Abstract
Continuous compact reactors offer significant advantages to chemical processing via: (i) better quality control, (ii) intrinsic safety, (iii) reduction in plant footprint due to intensified mass and heat transfer, and (iv) flexibility in process scale-up. In this study we are presenting
a multifunctional compact reactor with integrated mixing, heat transfer and reaction functionalities, as a demonstration of a flow reactor for fine chemicals synthesis. Selective oxidation/reduction [1, 2], catalytic C-C coupling and tandem C-C coupling – reduction reactions [3] were used as model reactions.
