Abstract
We designed a Sn-Ag thin film electrode to improving the reversibility (charge) performance and attempted to replace the pure Sn (tin), which is poor reversibility behaviour (approximately 50–60% efficiency) as an anode in rechargeable Li-ion batteries. The prepared Ag3Sn material is electrochemically deposited onto Cu foil using tin chloride-silver nitrate solution by electrochemically deposited at short time process. The specific discharge-charge capacities of the Ag3Sn surface is 1034 mAh g−1∼1025 mAh g−1 at 0.1C rate which is higher coulombic efficiency (insertion/de-insertion) of 99.1% than that of pure Sn (theoretical capacity 994 mAh g−1). Thus, the prepared materials are improved the reversibility behaviour in the full cell Li-ion (2032 size) rechargeable batteries.
