Abstract
This paper is a commissioned reply to two responses to my "What's So New about the 'New' Theory of Photography?" (Journal of Aesthetics and Art Criticism 75:4, Fall 2017, 439-452). One reply is from Scott Walden, a defender of what I call "(Non-Sceptical) Orthodox Theory" the other is from Dominic McIver Lopes, a rival New Theorist of Photography, whose view I have taken issue with for being too permissive.
