Abstract
Hesitancy to vaccine uptake is typical not only of the general population, but of front-line healthcare personnel as well. Effectively managing such a situation of uncertainty is a difficult endeavor to undertake and accomplish. Healthcare policies that respect otherness may help those who remain hesitant to realize that vaccination programs should not be perceived as an existential threat to their valued identities, but rather as an opportunity for constructive dialogue. Accordingly, implementing inclusive leadership interventions that encourage intrinsic motivation though pro-social incentives is far more promising than imposing administrative sanctions based on coercion. Leadership strategies supporting reasonable accommodation for unvaccinated staff in conformity to diversity management principles would be more beneficial to healthcare system performance than the introduction of strict measures that are devoid of sufficient societal legitimation.
