Abstract

The Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR) leads work to create the conditions for business success through competitive and flexible markets that create value for businesses, consumers and employees. It drives regulatory reform, and
works across Government and with the regions to raise levels of UK productivity. It is also responsible for ensuring an improved quality of life for employees and promoting choice and quality for consumers.
As part of that work the Employment Market Analysis and Research (EMAR) branch of the Department manages an extensive research programme to inform policy making
and promote better regulation on employment relations, labour market and equality and discrimination at work issues.
