Abstract

Introduction
Complementary and alternative medicines (CAMs) are commonly used by cancer patients to treat or prevent cancer in conjunction with anticancer therapy. However, severe adverse reactions arising from herb-drug interactions (HDIs) may result and failure to recognize these harmful HDIs can potentiate lethal side effects of anticancer drugs which may lead to negative therapeutic outcomes. The objective of this study is to identify and to increase the awareness of common interactions between anticancer drugs and CAMs among practicing pharmacists.
