Abstract
Higher order methods are making a resurgence in computational physics with the advent of modern computing architectures. These new platforms provide a very high level of computational concurrency and floating point arithmetic with a very low memory capacity and bandwidth. Higher order methods increase both the accuracy of the method and the floating point intensity with a smaller increase in memory and thus should be more computationally efficient on modern architectures.
